Today was Kathleen’s birthday and the first time Michael could not be with her. Michael knows his lovely bride loves Verdi and Puccini, but is not as fond of Wagner. To tease her, his ring tone is a Wagnerian melody.
Michael really teased Kathleen today. He informed two of Kathleen’s visiting friends I would be showing up on Kathleen’s doorstep. I entered their home in my cartoon-ish Viking gear. I told her I was there on Michael’s behalf and understood she was a Wagner fan.
What a kind lady! Partly not to offend (she later admitted); and partly, I assume, because she was in shock, she agreed. I laughed and said while I may have showed up as Michael’s ring tone, I knew she loved Puccini and Verdi, then sang “Vissi d’arte” for her. With tears in her eyes SHE SANG ALONG!!! Awesome!
Even more awesome? She gave me chocolate and, with one of her beautiful friends, spoke Italian with me.
Happy Birthday, Kathleen!
I just saw the video—hysterical! Kathy loved it so much she called me twice already to tell me about it. And her two friends loved it just as much. I know they’ll be telling everyone, so here’s hoping business booms. Thanks again for helping me make Kathy’s birthday special.
Mi sono molto divertita. L'OperaGram.com® in Person era un regalo speciale. Rosa, vorrei ringraziarla per la rappresentazione dell'aria "Vissi d'Arte". Lei ha una voce stupenda! Era un piacere conoscerla.
Grazie ancora.
