To celebrate Valentine’s Day, Home Instead Senior Care partnered with Weiss Memorial Hospital to bring love songs to seniors today. My friends. My friends Alison Kelly, Gerald Frantzen and I strolled several different wards. Valentine’s Day can be challenging when a person is not in the hospital. It is even more so when having to stay in a hospital.
One woman asked to be serenaded in her room. She shared that her son died three months ago and that today was a special day between them. She thanked us for the song and said it meant a lot to her. Her sharing this painful and loving part of her life meant a lot to me.
