On August 6, 2015, OperaGram.com®’s founder, Rose Guccione, applied for and received a Street Performer’s license. (Yes… it’s a thing here in the Windy City!) Now, empowered with a license to perform, she hit the streets today and sang from the corner of Lasalle & Adams near a food truck called Cupcakes for Courage. Not only are their cupcakes delicious, but their story is truly one of love, courage, triumph, and philanthropy. Ten percent of their proceeds – a tithe, if you will – go to support two charities: Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the Ride Janie Ride Foundation.
An added bonus today was that a friend with whom Rose worked attended the performance, graciously agreed to record it, and bought a cupcake. Thank you Gilda!
You may have noticed the green garb… the food truck’s name is “The Green Machine” so I wanted to match. Follow its delicious schedule at The Green Machine.
