Kat, who lives in the “good ol’ South,” could not come to the Chicago area this weekend for Mother’s Day. Her Mom, Jane, is an amazing lady and did a great deal to support opera when she lived in North Carolina. Knowing how much Jane loves opera, Kat “Googled” around and found OperaGram.com®! So, in the horns, braids and spear, I sang a little Gershwin music. Thank you both Kat and Jane! I look forward to seeing my own mother tomorrow.

You made my dream a reality. I loved that Mom told you "you have to sing Opera for me" before she even knew what it was all about.
I spoke to my sister who took her to get her hair and nails done and she has not stopped telling everyone about it. A few times she sat in silence remembering it with tears of joy in her eyes.
It meant the world — her Opera world, to her. Very special.
I just received a message that the mother to whom I sang this special Mother’s Day singing telegram in 2009 passed away this week. Her daughter who had ordered the telegram asked whether I still have the video from that day to share at her memorial. I am so honored and moved by this request. Rest in Peace dear Jane.
