Wow! Thank You! Oh my goodness, Rose, this is a great deal!
I am forwarding this to my wife who is the keeper of our entertainment schedule. Thanks for including me in this offer.
Thank you for hooking me up with this! Got my tix for Feb 13th. You're the best, Rose
Thanks for the offer. Kathy and I are looking at which dates work best. I have a special place in my heart for “Elisir” and I know you’ll appreciate why.
When I was a resident at Northwestern, Carol Fox’s husband (she was the legendary GM of Lyric in those days) was an internist on the staff of the hospital. She gave him the job of finding residents to be the “house doctor” each night in return for tickets. We got to go backstage and meet the performers beforehand, during intermission, and afterwards.
On one of my nights I got a call to go backstage urgently at intermission because the tenor, who—having had effusive reviews in the New York Times and other media—was making his Chicago debut, had a sore throat and wasn’t sure he could sing the next act.
I met this young, very large tenor, who spoke no English, and sprayed his throat with what we residents termed the “magic elixir” and he went on to finish his performance brilliantly.
After the show, we went backstage and were told the tenor wanted to thank us. So between my so-so Italian and his extremely fractured English, we exchanged best wishes. Then he insisted on giving me an autographed photo of himself. I still have it. The inscription read: “Mille grazie, caro dottore. Luciano Pavarotti.”
This is so wonderful.
Looks like a great deal. I'll pass this along to some of my students.
Thanks Rose. I'll check with the boss.
Thank you for sharing this thoughtful offer! I am taking advantage of it, and I will be surprising my partner. He is an ardent opera fan and I know he will be thrilled.
Thanks for the info about the $25 tickets. I'll check with my wife if we should try for some.
Thank you so much. I am going to use this wounderful offer.
Thank you so so so much for this info. I purchased 4 tickets for Friday, Feb. 19th to go with my kids and mom. Can't wait to see you in the production.
All right!!! Yes I'm so going. THANK you Rose !! Are you in the production?
The reviews are in and discounted tickets are still available for L'elisir d'amore!
