Josh is shy about birthdays, often erasing the event from the company calendar every year. This makes him a PERFECT candidate for an OperaGram.com® in Person!

Josh’s colleagues held a little birthday breakfast and had me show up. With a really bad Nordic accent, my intro went kind-a like this:

“Well… Happy Birthday, Josh. You don’t call, write or come over any more, so I thought I’d visit you at work to wish you a happy birthday.”

I took his hand and swung it as I contineud:

“Do you remember our first date where we walked hand in hand like this? It was there you first talked about a state with which you are obsessed: Ohio. Remember that, Josh? Well, here’s a little song I sang to you to help you remember.”

I then burst into the “Ho-jo-to-ho” snippet replacing that with “Ohio.” I continued:

“Ah! What a lovely memory. Well, it is your birthday today. I’d like to invite all your co-workers to join in as we sing you a happy birthday.”

I sang my infamous penultimate note (high D) and commented that I had sung that deafening note on our second date.

Josh was such a good sport and the colleague who accompanied me out of the building said I had made their day.
